Black Hills Maze
The most fun you will ever have getting lost will be in the Black Hills Maze located just 3 miles south of Rapid City on Highway 16 on the Road to Mount Rushmore in the Black Hills Region of South Dakota. You can get lost in 1.2 miles of walkways, bridges, and stairs. You may think that you are excellent with directions if you can find your way to all four of the towers, but you still have to find your way out! What is even more "amazing" is that the structure is not rigid, but fluid in that a new configuration is created approximately every 2 weeks.
Family fun, games and attractions in addition to the maze - which obviously is what the theme park is named for - you can find bankshot basketball which is a combination of miniature golf, basketball and billiards all in one; a batting cage; a 360 degree climbing wall know as Maze Mountain; a children's train; a 400 foot ride over the maze called the racing Zipline; a seated, swinging ride for the kids in the group and finally a way to cool off if the day is hot, a game of water wars.
The Black Hills Maze is open May 1 through September 30 – but during the months of May and September, they are only open on the weekend. Monday through Saturday, they open at 8:30 am. On Sunday, they open at 10:00 am. With the exception of Friday, the area closes at 9:00 pm. On Fridays they stay open an hour later until 10.
