Badlands National Park provides a variety of service and facilities to make your stay comfortable and educational. You'll find exceptional programs on the natural history of the area, as well as quality campgrounds and lodging.

Single entry (non-motorized) - $7 (7 days)
Motorcycle - $10 (7 days)
Private, non-commercial automobile - $15 (7 days)
Annual permit, Badlands National Park - $30  (one year from date of purchase)
National Parks Pass - $50 (valid for one year entry to all NPS units)

Visitor Centers

Cedar Pass Contact Station: Located at park headquarters, a temporary contact station is in place to serve you while the main park visitor center, the Ben Reifel Visitor Center, is undergoing rehabilitation through October 2005. The temporary facility has an information desk, exhibits, restrooms, and water. The Badlands Natural History Association operates an outlet here with postcards, books, videos, posters, and other educational materials on the park and its resources. Parking is located across from the contact station. Bus and RV parking are also available. Open year round.

White River Visitor Center: Located on the Pine Ridge Reservation on Highway 27, the White River Center is operated by the Oglala Sioux Parks and Recreation Authority, and offers a staffed information desk, park orientation movie, exhibits, restrooms, and water. Open June 1 to September 15, 2005.

Amphitheater

The Amphitheater is in the Cedar Pass Campground, near the Cedar Pass Contact Station. It is accessible by a developed path from the parking area or campground. Each evening in the summer, park rangers offer a 40-minute slide presentation on some aspect of Badlands National Park.

Picnic Areas

Picnic tables are located near the Cedar Pass Campground. Picnic areas are also established at the Journey Overlook and on the Conata Road; however, there is no water available. Remember that open campfires are not permitted anywhere in the park, including picnic areas.

Overlooks

Scenic overlooks and wayside exhibits provide off-road parking. Restroom facilities and water are not available.

Campgrounds

Cedar Pass Campground: Operates on a first come, first served basis. Campground Hosts are on site Memorial Day though Labor Day. No campfires are allowed. Fees: $10 per site in the summer, and $8 per site in the winter.

Sage Creek Campground: Operates on a first come, first served basis and camping is free. This is a primitive campground with pit toilets and no water. Horseback riders frequently camp here. Access this campground via the unpaved Sage Creek Rim Road. Make sure your vehicle has high clearance. No campfires are allowed.

Cedar Pass Lodge

The Cedar Pass Lodge, located next to the Cedar Pass Contact Station, offers food service and air conditioned cabins from April until the season ends in mid-October.
