Ice Cave

Location

Located in South Dakota near the Mount Rushmore area in the Black Hills is the historic Ice Cave. Currently owned and protected by the federal government, the Ice Cave is listed on the national registry as a historical site of significance to Native Americans and a source of information on local prehistoric culture. While investigation into the site is still underway, it is thought that the area may have been used as s ceremonial site at one time.

Tours

Tours and public access to the Ice Cave are currently unavailable. The Ice Cave currently functions as a recreational area with fantastic views and scenery.
