Crazy Horse Memorial and campus complex features the colossal carving-in-process of Crazy Horse, museums including American Indian art collections, educational center, the sculptor's original home, restaurant, gift shop and more.

Location
Crazy Horse Memorial is located 4 miles north of Custer and 17 miles southwest of Mt. Rushmore, off HWY 16/385 in the Black Hills of South Dakota.
Features and Facilities
Crazy Horse Monument
- Mountain carving-in-progress of Chief Crazy Horse
- Started in 1948, by sculptor Korczak Ziolkowski
- 88-ft tall face of Crazy Horse commemorated in 1998
- Work currently being done on the horse’s head
- Featuring an evening laser light show during summer
- Dimensions of the completed monument will be 563-ft by 641-ft.

- Main entrance to Crazy Horse Memorial and Campus
- Find information, paintings and a plains tipi inside this beautiful 40,000 square-foot building.
Indian Museum of Native American History
- Museum designed and built by Korczak and his family.
- Featuring a diverse collection of Native American paintings, art collections, and artifacts.
- Over 100 tribal flags in the Crazy Horse Memorial Flag Collection
- Exquisite wheel-turned pottery pieces in the Robert Big Elk Exhibit
- Other exhibits include the Marcella Dupuis Carlin Collection, Dancey Collection, and Standing Soldier and Keith Exhibit.
The “Original Lobby”
- Workers preserved the Ziolkowski's front porch, which served as the original welcome area.
- Featuring a section of the original lobby floor, Korczak’s mural of Crazy Horse, and a “rock box” allowing visitors to take a rock from the mountain.
Native American Education and Cultural Center
- Building constructed from rock blasts from mountain carving
- Hands-on activities such as traditional Lakota games and a chance to set up a tipi
- “Make and Take” crafts tables
- Instruction in American Indian story-telling, songs and dance, and other arts.
- Lecture area and Edward S. Curtis photograph collection
Korczak’s Studio and Home
- Korczak’s original log home and studio
- Furnishings include Louis XVI chairs, Marie Antoinette mirror, and many of Korczak’s works of art.
