From the early part of the 19th century, cowboys tended their cattle on the rangeland of the western United States. Often, during a cattle drive, after a long, hot day in the saddle, the wranglers enjoyed an evening of tall tales, music and good rib stickin' food around the fire and at the chuckwagon.
Today, in addition to an excellent meal of hearty food including such stables as beans, potatoes, biscuits and beef – there is often live entertainment. Nothing demonstrates good ol' western hospitality like a great meal, sometimes under the stars and sometimes after a trail ride.
Chuckwagon meals, whether them be for lunch or dinner, are always a great way to entertain the entire family. Whether on a working cattle ranch, beside a stream after a day of riding, or at the end of a wagon ride, a chuckwagon dinner is great fun ---and good food!
