Advertised as the Black Hills Autumn Expedition, this event is a combination of various festivals and celebrations through out the Black Hills region of South Dakota. All these events generally takes place in the month of September through the first couple of weeks in October.

The individual events include celebrations at Mount Rushmore National Memorial which take place through out the month of September. Shorter events include the Dakota Celtic Festival, the Black Hills History and Heritage Celebration, the Wall Badlands Art Expo, the Belle Fourche River Fest, the Hill City Quilt Show and Sale, the Mickelson Trail Trek, the Rail and Trail Rendezvous, the USBCHA National Sheepdog Finals and Cultural Festival, and the Taste of Spearfish. If that is not enough entertainment, you may want to attend the Badger Clark Hometown Cowboy Poetry and Music, Oktoberfest, the Annual Buffalo Roundup Arts Festival, the Custer Stampede and Buffalo Wallow Chili Cook-off, the Annual Buffalo Roundup, the Black Hills Pow Wow, or the celebration of Native American Day on October 10th.

Fall is a great time of year in the Black Hills of South Dakota. At this time of year the area has so many great activities for the whole family.
