A few days of Native American culture, dancing and traditions with dancing, food and drinks, drumming and so much more for all ages.
The annual Black Hills Powwow is hosted by the Black Hills Powwow Association (BHPA), a non-profit organization. The BHPA is comprised of a ten-member board of directors. The Black Hills Powwow has become one of the premiere American Indian events in the United States and Canada. Every year, dancers, singers, artisans and spectators converge on Rapid City during Native American Day weekend in South Dakota to share in numerous multicultural events, including the championship powwow, style show, arts and crafts shows, softball tournament, Miss He Sapa Win pageant, Youth Day activities and archery tournament. The entire purpose of the powwow weekend is to showcase the beauty of American Indian culture and history, all right here in the sacred Black Hills.
