Pioneer Auto Museum
The Pioneer Auto Museum welcomes visitors to check out over 250 historic motorcycles, cars, farm equipment, and other collectables. The auto show includes famous autos like the "General Lee" from Dukes, and a motorcycle owned by Elvis Presley. Enjoy classic cars made anywhere from the 1900s to the 1980s and antique toys, music boxes, and fossils. There is also a diner and gem store on site.
The museum actually began as a gas and service station on the busy corner of US 83 and US 16 with a diner in 1954. The owner, Dick, had placed a few older cars in the lot to catch traveler's eyes. He saw that travelers were really interested in these old cars and therefore started collecting more and more. Come fill up on gas, get a bite to eat, and check out Dick's collection of classic, antique and sport cars at the Pioneer Auto Museum. It is located off I-90 in Murdo, South Dakota and open from 8am to 9pm.
