The Journey Museum
The Journey Museum invites everyone to enjoy its exhibits and collections from prehistoric to present times within the Great Plains. Learn about how the Black Hills were formed, about the dinosaurs that inhabited them, about Native Americans who found them to be sacred, and about pioneers who made homesteads out of their wild lands.
The museum creates an enjoyable experience for all ages and is easy to navigate. It is broken up into four time periods in history, complete with artifacts, life like settings, and interactive exhibits. View history through the eyes of two very different lifestyles and time periods. The Lakota and pioneers both made the Black Hills their home but used its resources differently and lived with different passions and values. Visit the museum any day of the week any time of year. It is located on New York Street in Rapid City.
