When it comes to shopping, entertainment and fun, the Rushmore Mall in Rapid City, South Dakota, is the place to go.  The mall has over one hundred stores and so much more to enliven any day and vacation.  In fact, it is a great place to eat or spend the evening with a choice of activities and events that are sure to please all ages.

Rushmore Mall is located in Rapid City, one of the city’s major shopping and entertainment areas.  Varied shops, entertainment outlets and restaurants offer everyone a good selection for all needs and budgets.

The Rushmore Mall is South Dakota’s only western regional type mall.  They cater to a broad selection of goods with one hundred and ten stores, including the major department outlets that are found in most major malls across the United States.  In addition, visitors can find banks, kids’ outlets and unique boutiques that have varied souvenirs and other trinkets.

Located at 2200 North Maple Avenue, on the corner of Lacrosse and the I-90, the Rushmore Mall is open from Monday to Friday, from 10am to 9pm, Saturdays from 10am to 8pm and Sundays from 11am to 6pm, except for statutory holidays.  However, store, restaurant and entertainment outlet hours may vary.

Visitors to the mall can also enjoy movies and fine restaurants, including a large cafe style food court with foods ranging from Chinese to local cuisine.  There are also a good selection of quick snack venues, including ice creams, bagels and more.

For frequent visitors, diners and shoppers, the Rushmore Mall offers special guest services in the centralized kiosk, not far from the food court.  A special reward type program is available with a coupon type book with money off coupons that are good for use in about sixty of the mall’s restaurants and stores. 

The Rushmore Mall also hosts certain events.  The resident event that occurs every September is the Black Hills Idol Competition, which is held in the food court area and looks for the next hot singer from local youngsters, including local colleges and schools.  Prizes include special gift certificates for spending at Rushmore Mall stores, as well as other sought after prizes.

Children are also well catered for at the Rushmore Mall with a special Play Park.  Parents can drop off their children and leave them under the safe and caring supervision of specially trained staff.

Entertainment is another forte of the Rushmore Mall.  The Black Hills Community Theatre offers theatrical type performances for children, as well as major main type acts for adults of all tastes, with box office tickets available on the mall’s main floor.  For movie lovers, the local cinema offers seven screens with digital type projections and stadium style seating.  Varied showings are available throughout the day and evenings, and tickets can be purchased online, through the cinema cashiers or via special automated machines.  The mall’s main level is also a hot spot for arcade lovers with a huge area with varied games and other activities.
