Spearfish, SD is located 10 minutes from the Wyoming border, off US I-90, in the northern Black Hills region.

Opened in 1906, the Matthews Opera House provides live performances put on by the local theater company. Catch a show or visit the Spearfish Arts Center and view the galleries or attend the July arts festival.
During the heat of summer, take the kids to Spearfish Recreation and Aquatics Center and let them cool off in the Water Park, featuring waterslides and pools.
Getting Here
- From Devils Tower: Spearfish is located 1 hour (60 miles) from Devils Tower. Travel south on WY-24 for 6 miles before turning left onto US-14; follow for 19.4 miles. Merge onto I-90 E toward Spearfish and continue for 33.3 miles. Take exits 10, 12, or 14 for Spearfish.
- From Mount Rushmore: Spearfish is located 1.25 hours (70 miles) from Mt. Rushmore. Travel northeast on SD-244 for 1.3 miles before turning left on US-16A; continue for 3.4 miles. Merge onto US-16 E toward Rapid City and travel 18.2 miles. From Rapid City, take exit 1A towards Gillette, merging onto US I-90 W/US-14 W and continue 45.5 miles. Take exits 10, 12 or 14 for Spearfish.
