South Dakota Air & Space Museum
If WWII planes interest you then the place you need to be is the South Dakota Air & Space Museum.
- The Museum is located along I 90 - 7 miles east of Rapid City next to the Ellsworth Air Force Base.
- The Museum is open seven days a week, year round, although the open hours do vary.
- Admission is free. Donations are welcome.
Overview
On the grounds of the South Dakota Air and Space Museum are 30 displays of military aircraft including bombers and fighter jets. In addition to the outdoor displays there are many indoor exhibits heralding the use of aircraft in times past.
Location/Directions
The Museum is located along I 90 - 7 miles east of Rapid City next to the Ellsworth Air Force Base. If you are headed east, use Exit 67B and follows the signs to the museum. If you are headed west, use Exit 67 and follow the signs.
